For many patients, especially those choosing private care, an insurance claim will be part of the process. Private providers, hospitals and clinics will be familiar with the claims process but some insurers will have agreements with certain providers only and this may therefore influence your decision on who to consult for your medical care.

A common scenario is that a patient may have an insurance policy through their employment and may also have an individual insurance policy. There may be differences in coverage and exclusions which may also have to be factored into your choices.

The good news is that direct billing and assistance with seeking authorisation for treatment is part of the function of the hospital and this can help smooth the process and resolve any queries at the time of the appointment.

Insurance correspondence, medical reports and referral letters can be provided if required and we always try our best to minimise the stress of making a claim.
